Position Summary

Position will be based in the Cayman Islands. Qualifying for a work permit and establishing residency and/or extended stays are essential requirements of the position.

This position will serve as Director of eCommerce of TourTrek which is a technology startup company focused on selling global destination experiences on the internet.

General responsibilities include developing and executing the eCommerce vision, branding and marketing strategy for TourTrek. The job focus is on delivering a best-in-class customer experience and global eCommerce solution by taking a strategic view of the digital landscape and keeping current with industry best practices. Specific responsibilities include the development of the technology and omni-channel roadmap that includes measurements for the collection and analysis of actionable analytics to guide continuous improvements in customer acquisition, retention and conversion. Additionally, this role will provide oversight and guidance on website architecture design and strategy while engaging with third party technical and engineering teams to ensure seamless third party integrations.

This position will be responsible to grow sales and profitability of the eCommerce site, and oversee the continued build out of the platform. Position has P&L accountability for the eCommerce business unit including responsibility to attain targeted revenue and margin objectives.

  • Works cross functionally with leadership team to develop company"s business plan, goals and direction.
    • This includes defining/refining the company vision, fostering an entrepreneurial spirit and instilling the highest ethical standards.
  • Provides leadership and guidance in the development of concepts, strategies, and leads the eCommerce business.
  • Lead the creation of the global corporate eCommerce strategy including the implementation of an eCommerce platform while working directly with key leadership.
  • Supervise and lead all digital marketing activities, including but not limited to SEO/SEM, affiliate, display ads, and email marketing, and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop the marketing roadmap and measurements for the collection and analysis of actionable analytics (Omniture Analytics, SiteSpect A/B Testing, Rich Relevance for Recommendations, ad hoc metrics, etc. on web and mobile platforms) that will guide continuous improvements in customer acquisition, retention and conversion.
  • Maintain a smooth eCommerce and technology production process, enabling the efficient handling of hundreds of updates and improvements to the sites" functionality and design throughout each season.
    • Knowledge of digital trends and best in class practices within the eCommerce industry as well as travel.
  • Manages key technology contractors including eCommerce platform designers, SEO/SEM Consultants and web programmers.
  • Work with development teams and oversee input during architecture review, design and build phases of development lifecycles.
    • Review designs and architecture for quality and function while engaging leadership team.
  • Frame and map opportunities based on historical results, online analytics and current trends to maximize sales.
    • Oversee eCommerce sales planning and forecasting to meet company"s financial and operational goals.
    • Reporting on business trends and providing insights and recommendations to management team on how to further maximize results across all business units.
  • Works cross functionally with leadership team to ensures shareholder value by maximizing profits and developing strategies that achieve the highest ROIC.
  • Requirements
    • Bachelor"s degree required
    • 8 - 10 years of hands on experience and demonstrated success in leading online marketing programs and developing a team of professionals.
    • In-depth knowledge and experience in change management, plus a proven track record of building a successful eCommerce business in a complex, omni-channel retail environment.
    • Minimum of eight years progressive experience in business management with leadership level experience in eCommerce.
    • In depth knowledge of Adobe Marketing Suite: Site Catalyst, Search Center, Test and Target, Campaign, Data connectors, Report Builder, Social etc.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels of management and employees.
    • Strong managerial, planning, analytical, project management and leadership skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills and outstanding attention to detail.
    • Ability to flourish in an extremely fast-paced, high-growth environment.
    Preferences
    • MBA or other professional certification preferred.
